With autumn upon us, many of us have started to spend less time outdoors due to the change in temperature, and frequent rain that the season brings with it. We are preparing for the winter “cocooning”; getting re-aquainted with the indoors. However, we often find that the outdoor and indoor ecology are very different, and the indoors start to feel stuffy and drab; let’s also keep in mind that quality of our indoor air greatly differs from the outdoors.
I recently read of a fantastic and inspiring article called 7 Awesome Ideas To Keep Your “Indoor Ecology” Flowin’ by Finer Minds. The premise of the article is to help create a more holistic environment in the home.
The seven ideas that it talks about in depth are:
- Add some plants to your life
- Choose good lighting
- Decorating your space
- Open your window
- Control your room temperature
- Ergonomics matters
- Adding soothing sounds
A comfortable home is so much more than walls and beams, it is a personal reflection of style, mind, body, and spirit.
